Hello Mystics

I use your website for a quite a lot. So maybe it's time I joined you. And thanks to the two Mystics who helped me get to melee 100 a few days ago.

My Ryzom Forum name is the same as this one, tho I don't post a lot on the Ryzom game forums. I use the same one (or slightly modified one) on political forums, where I quite often post.

My character name on the mainland is Dare, a Tryker of an independent mindset. She does not buy into the Kami mysticism and distrusts the Karavan off-worders as well. (That's how I RP her anyway. Atys for Homins is her creed.) I have one character of each of the other races on Silan.

My gaming background is mostly military sims, both board and computer games, that are played with one or more human opponents. I only occasionally play single player games - Spore is the only one (& it's not quite single player) I bother with at present.

I'm a casual player, maybe 10-12 hours a week, US CDT zone - so usually on 2300-0100 GMT during week and 1600-2100 on weekends. I like PvP, but not ganker-friendly games. I'm pretty crappy at PvP compared to the hardcore and usually drop or never start any game that appears to be ganker-powergamer-friendly & thus casual player-hostile. Because I have little time to play I tend to play hybrid characters. Obviously, Ryzom was made for me - everyone is a hybrid.

I started playing Ryzom in 2006 on Cho (US-Windmeer had already been shut down). I started with a RL friend and he wanted to start on a new server. Unfortunately, Cho was empty - often I was the only Tryker in Fairhaven. Cho merged with Arispotle and I joined the EoA. I intended to be neutral from the start and followed the forums from 2004, but the neutral guilds quit in a snit - dumbasses.

I'm a fan of Science Fiction so finding a character named KilgoreTrout was a big plus in my book. I see BM played Earth and Beyond. I really wanted to play that game, but my computer at the time wasn't up to it. Everyone I ever met who played it liked it so I don't know why E&B closed.

Just a big thanks for inviting me to join Ballistic Mystix! I had great time on our world trek on Sunday, and am looking forward to being part of your family here.

I am new to Ryzom and really love everything about this game. I tend to like "skill" based sandbox games that let you try a bit of everything and am enjoying so far learning to craft, harvest, do some magic & fight etc.

Just wanted to check in and thank Jessie, Kilgoretrout, Raulf, Inifuss and the rest for our Sunday run.

Dhanka (aka Brash Endeavors)

Prospective Members

Through my experiences I have found the Ballistic Mystix guild to be filled with some of the most kind and Mature people I've ever had the experience to play with. The are quite knowledgeable about the game and I can always find the help I need from guildies in terms of items, questions about the game, and most definitely fun and exciting hunts. The guild is currently Tryker/Karavan aligned though neutrals and all races are being accepted. If you wish to give the Mystix a try feel free to post here or contact our currently most active officers: Kilgoretrout, Karu, Nymphet, and myself.

Hope to have some fun times with you in the future :)
~Vallian~
High Officer
Ballistic Mystix

A member wannabe banging at the gates

Ill make this short.. I'm looking for a guild, preferably a guild that's also looking for me.

I started playing.. I dont know, a week or two back, got invited to a guild 2 seconds after I left the newb island and I figured can always give it a shot. As I guessed, the guild didnt work out too well and now Im looking for a new one.

So, I spent some time browsing through different guild websites and finally bumped here. The Ballistics (or Mystix?) sounded like the most intresting ones, first, the attitute at least on the site sounds good and secondly, you seem to be one of the few Karavan minded guilds.

Just a few words about myself before I go back into my box.. Im a bit older gamer, not old, but not a teen anymore. Ive played quite a lot of mmogs and decided to give a shot to a bit different game. I dont care about powerplaying or being teh most uber on the server, I always prefer fun over efficiency. I like beer.. a lot. I live in northern Europe, timezone is GMT+2.

If you feel like it, gimme a /tell in-game or post a reply here or something. I tried reaching you guys in-game, but none of the officers were online. Nothing you can lose.. well, nothing than your reputation.

Introduction

After three weeks at warp Tuner was at her wits end. Not because of the ship; it was operating smoothly, no malfunctions in several weeks now. Food wasn't an issue either; plenty in storage thanks to her last visit at a backwater planet called Atys. She sat low in the pilot seat with her hands rubbing her temples and a scowl on her face. The problem was her prisoner.
"Stop that infernal screaming!" She turned around shouting at the dimunitive little man chained to the wall behind her chair. He looked up at his captor frantically and then began screaming again. "What is your problem?!?" She jumped out of the chair, walked across the room, and drew a dagger placing it at his throat. "Stop screaming or..."
He shut up quickly, eyes focused on the dagger.
"Good. Now this is how it works." She slowly drew the daggar back, "My name is Tuner. You are my prisoner, I am your captor. We are heading to where I live. You are going to be sold into slavery. You problably won't survive long as a slave but..." She tilted her head and grinned "You will make me some profit."
She looked closely eye to eye and raised an eyebrow, "Can you even understand me?" All she got in return was silence. "Speak!" More silence. She swung her fist slamming it into the bulkhead next to his head and yelled, "Speak NOW!"
"All right!" He whimpered, lowering his head to hide the tears. "I...understand, you."
Tuner sat back, now quite satisfied. "Good, speaking slaves fetch more on the market." She got up and returned to her chair.
"Market...?"
"Yes, slave market. Your going to be a slave. And I'm going to make some money at your expense."
"Where are we? What is this thing we are in?" He looked around at all the strange alien technology around him, not understanding what any of it was.
Tuner laughed and spun the chair around to face her prisoner. "Ok, this is how it works. My name is Tuner, I am a proud member of a race known of as Progen. Well..." She shrugged, "I'm proud to be one, they aren't proud to have me in their species though I suppose."
"Why not?"
She leaned forward grinning, "Because I'm a pirate. I destroy their ships on a regular basis, good profit in it. I trade on the black market frequently. I deal in slaves...like you."
"This is a...spaceship?"
Tuner laughed again and turned the chair back to her pilots consoles. "Yes, it is."
"I want to go home, please let me go home." He begged.
"Oh you are, to your new home."
"I want to go back to where I came from, I dont want to go where you live."
"Tough."
"Please."
"Nope.
"Please?"
"No."
"Please??"
"NO! Now shut up!"
The little man began crying uncontrollably. Tuner hung her head and sighed. This prisoner is going to be the death of me, she thought to herself. She attempted to focus on her work and tone out the little weeping man behind her. The crying continued and as hard as she tried to not care, something broke inside her. She sat back staring up at the ceiling. "Please stop crying..." She turned around, "What is your name?"
Between the tears she head him mumble "The...Thevro"
"Thevro, ok. listen up. I don't know why I'm feeling sorry for you but I am." She leaned forward and tossed a cloth onto Thevro's lap. "I'll find you a Jenquai owner, ok?"
"What are Jenquai?"
"Relegious goofballs. Gentle fools who believe their worship will bring about pease and all that crap." She smiled, "But they are gentle."
"I don't want to be a slave, I want to go back to my people."
"Thats in the opposite direction we are heading."
"Please?"
"Don't start that again." She looked sternly at him. "And no more crying, I don't know if I can take it anymore my..."
A beeping sound came from the nav console, informing her that they were afew minutes from Sol System. Home of the Terra, Progen, and Jenquai Human species. Tuner turned back around and activated long range sensors. "Got to watch out for authorities, I'm a wanted woman here."
"You could come live with my people, Tykers are kind and forgiving."
She laughed for a moment then stopped. She scanned a second time, and then a third. "Its all gone..."
"Whats all..."
"Shut up!" She snapped then hit a button which promptly dropped them out of warp. A loud humming could be heard followed by a locking sound of the ships four solar sails locking into place. "Computer."
-acknowledged-
"Tie all reserve power into the sensors, I want maximum scanning range on forward sensors."
-acknowledged-
"Scanning...where are they..." Tuner mumbled aloud.
Thevro slowly stood up and looked beyond her. Outside the window all he saw was space. Stars. This was all beyond his wildest dreams. He pinched himself to make certain he wasn't dreaming. He looked back at Tuner as she sat back in her chair, a look of stunned astonishment on her face. "Whats wrong?"
"Its all gone."
"The...autorties?"
"Thats authorities, and I mean more than that. No boundary markers, no ships, nothing." Then she sat forward and began pressing various buttons on the console. Thevro noticed that his chains let him move about most of the cockpit so he walked cautiously forward and looked over her shoulder. "What are you doing?"
"What?" She looked up, looked at the chains secured to his wrists, and then at the chain connecting to the wall. "Oh yea, chains to long. Oh well." She resumed what she was doing noticing that the Tyker next to her was still looking over her shoulder. "What i'm doing is setting my communications to detect the Progen alpha one alert system. Its a relayed signal throughout the entire sol system using specialized towers on various planets that...." she looked up at Thevro's bewildered expression. "...that you have no clue what I'm talking about, do you?"
Thevro shook his head.
"Ok, well short story. If there is an emergency, this signal goes out warning all progen who have access to it." Tuner smiled, "Which I do...ahh here we go."
-bzzt- Warning...-bzzt- Virix everywhere...-bzzt...overrun mars...
-end of signal-
Tuner quickly put in a frequency she had come across on the market a year ago into her scanners and began another scan of the entire system. The screen that was previously empty light up.
"What does that mean?"
Tuner went pale, "Those are Virix, millions and millions of Virix." She stood up and walked off the bridge towards the rear access door to her quarters.
"Won't they find us?"
"No they wont, we are well beyond their range." She stated as she slowly walked through the door as it closed behind her.
Thevro was left standing there bewildered.

---

To be continued :P Hello everyone, just dropping a note that im interested in this guild. I hear a number of you are EnB refugees like me so I thought you might like to hear abit of my characters background. The names Tuner and the story above isn't finished yet, I'll resume it in abit :)

-waves-
