The wife and I are fine as you might know we played City of Heroes and Villians for some time and had alot of fun killgoretrout came over for a bit and that was great to be with an Original BM'r!

Well now we come to WoW

Yes, we play WoW and its great we started a BM Guild on WoW about 4 days ago and have 23 Members!

Hiya Iamme!! Good to hear from you. Hope all is well with Missi and yourself.BM Ryzom is pretty much dead. Karu and I are playing Tabula Rasa. Last I heard Solsister,Dana and Oshido were playing WoW. Some others are playing Eve. Currently there are BM chapters in Eve(corp sign YUBO) and Tabula Rasa. TR is fun atm. Time will tell if it has lasting staying power.Don't be a stranger.-Kil

Well.. Just on a whim I checked the old BM site. Nice to see a new post about everyones whereabouts!

Ronas and I are still gaming together. We seem to not be able to stay more than a month in any one game - gotta love ADHD. So, we basically rotate around between various games and beta tests.

Will definitely join any BM guild during the "game of the month", just know that our [u]longest[/u] attention span is 2 months at a time. I think BM should just make a cross game guild and be done with it!

Hey Kil! Miss you too... Yes, the good ole days of Ryzom .

That would be wonderful! If we find the "perfect" game in our wanderings, I will let you know.

We are playing Perfect World now, though it is not "perfect" as the name implies (haha) it has its good and bad and unique and not-so-unique points. I think it is still considered beta for the US and we do laugh at many of the English tranlations.

BTW I did beta test in TR and had a blast! One day it might come up on rotation, if it does I will be looking you up! It had a good Halo FPS feel about it (which I loved!), but yet had the classic MMO features. I heard that after they went live it became "harder" to actually play. Is it good for a duo-group now? It was good for that in beta, but my fear is that it is structured for groups of 4+. Let me know.

Have you ever played Entropia Universe? It might be a good home for BM. Similiar to Ryzom in that you can skill in everything. There are no true "levels" as in other MMOs, it is entirely skill based. The game itself is free and there are no monthly fees. If you want to get involved in the game however, you pretty well have to put some $$ into it. They have their own economy and there are people who have made lots of RL$ through the game. You might want to check it out. It is FPS type style, very few quests, but a creative society (guild) could really add to the already growing sci-fi content.

TR is very solo friendly.I soloed and instance last nite in which all the MOBs were my lvl. Karu and I duo on weekends sometimes. Really no need for large groups if you're not playing in zones way over your lvl. Was a patch and respec last night and if anything it seems even easier to solo.-Kil

Yep - the three of us are still on WoW, a mix of horde and alliance on Uldum, Muradin and Malygos servers. I still have an active account on LoTRO but don't have a lot of time for much game time there. That's about it.

Raku here... nice to see a BM chapter in WoW. Remember to save 3% of your gold to pay for trademark licensing Pappasmurph always knew that BM would streach out amongst the stars err...web. TR looks interesting. I don't know about FPS thing but it would be cool to try... bring on the free trial weekends!!

Of course Karu has all her toons higher then my one.I hope they run a trial so you can check it out.Having fun so far.Time will tell if it has long term value. I am keeping my eye on TR - there was an article about it in a gamer mag Rak picks up now and then and too I check in often at mmorpg.com to read the forum there about it. Definately if there's a trial I will give it a go. Easy to remember Orion; hunter that shakes his shield in the bull's (taurus) face.

Anyone who has activated TR account can send out 3 day trial codes. your email in profile is correct ? i can send the code there.
in the mean time, get TR client from ftp.playtr.com (about 3GB download) install it and get it up and running

o-o-okay, now that i've stopped yelling and cursing . . .

it is very apparent this is my first fps game - using the mmo style wasn't useful.

oh . . . first things first. Name is Sugre Flambe and working my way through boot camp. Can't get past walk mode. AH! Hold down mouse one to keep shooting! have not figured how to get out of mouse look to click on other things.

i'm sure my max noobness would make many laugh if i dared get past the first objective. :p

It does get easier . To get off mouse look I usually open a dialog box.Found it easiest(loke L key for your quest log). I've been on trial for WoW this week and at least most of your keybindings will be the same.Seems TR stole most of theirs from WoW.I'll try and catch you online tomorrow. I have a couple L5 toons floating around the starting area.-Kil

We gave TR a go; Dave liked it better than me - his problem that somethings could have been done better and that I had so much trouble with it. Depressing to think WoW is for people like me: no thumbs or patience. EnB was my first ever game of any sort; fps were something Dave did, so I'm a total noob. Three days was barely enough time to warm up to it. Dave did get to lvl 5 though. They have a 10 day or 2 week trial up I'm willing to try again.

I can understand that having no fps experience TR may be daunting.I've been playing the latest UT demo and realize how fast they are compared to MMOs.Glad you gave it a try.Hooefully they run a longer promo so you can get a real feel for it.-Kil

Very good to hear something from you guys again, after the yahoo board turned into a mess with all the spam and such.

I myself tried many games after the shut down of E&B, to name a few out of the top of my head; Lineage II, WoW, City of Heroes, Ryzom, Flyff and Eve Online. Lineage II is a NCSOFT game while TR just has NCSOFT as their publisher. From all games i liked Lineage II the most and if it wasn't to the asian grind and huge exp losses i might have stayed. So i'm curious about TR for sure, since NCSOFT decided to give their support to it and feel like i should give it a try. I just hope my pc can handle the game's graphics...

Also, nostalgic as i am, i haven't lost my desire of returning to E&B one day. Meaning, i'm keeping my eyes on the work of the E&B Emulator that's been in the works for a while now. According to this post and their last release of the emulator (which is kinda cool already), a public beta wouldn't be that far off anymore : "[b]We're also not far off opening a public beta server, but we want a little bit more stability, content and features before that goes ahead[/b]". I'd like a trial pass if that's okay. It looks intresting. And the thought of solo'ing is great to me. Only other game I solo'd a good deal easily was CoH/CoV. I'm wondering if you caught us while Rak and I were getting his epic pally mount. Just the 3 of us and we killed his guild's lvl 70 leader twice. Ah, nothing like a stream of wipes to make for everlasting bonds! Me, I'm going for the fast kitty. The pally mount quest made that an easy grind.

And now I got an email saying the TR code has been activated and I have until 3-13-08 for gameplay So far I'm sitting here at my third attempt to install. [/color]

[color=darkred]I never got to play TR I got it downloaded and installed but when I went to launchh it and then my graphics card literally shut itself off and thus freezing my computer. So we figured it was te driver and updated it. Then it was the security filter I have onmy computer so I had to allow it to go thru. Then it'd still freeze. So, I think I'm gonna hold off on TR until I have a desktop to play it with. Laptop plays WoW and GuildWars and probably CoH/Cov good. But TR just won't agree with my lil laptop. [/color]

[color=darkred]It's np. I was shocked to have a plaync game be so hard to install or play. GW and CoH work great. And WoW looks amazing on my laptop. My laptop's a Sony Vaio. It's not built for gaming but it'll tide me over til' hubby and I start once again building gaming desktops for personal use Even if it didn't play my games good I'd have still bought it b/c it's pink lol.

Oh and I made some Alliance toons on Uldum whoever plays WoW Both Iamme made a few. ATM I play on Drenden more but now that I know there's some BM'ers on other servers I'll venture outside my Horde shell.[/color]

My love affair with Eve as ended, got bored .I swear there's nothing out there worth playing any more , I have now turned to WoW to kill the time , you can find the Smithster on the Caelestrasz server. For all its faults I still want and need my Ryzom fix

I know your pain I played EvE for 2 years solid had several capital ships even a nyx and all ccp wants to do is pvp they never seemed to add content so I sold my account and came to wow and I must say its rather good!

I hate every other game out there on the market.. I have literally tried every game listed on mmorpg.com ....

The community, skill based leveling, not quest based.... god I hate doing the same 50 quests 500 times , politics, the ability to talk to people with out them calling you a nub and telling you how much you suck.

I must say I do miss old bm also, you all were a great, kind, helpful, reliable bunch

I went back to an old game, semi turn based mmorpg, think it came out like 7 years ago, I'm shocked it's still around lol... I tried vanguard... didn't like it, lotro, didn't like it, haven't tried eve but I don't like purely scifi/technology games so . WoW is probably the worst of them all, played it about 2 months, talked to about 60 people there and only one of them I found worthwhile talking to lol. played a bit on dragonmaw, and twisted or ing nethers.

Saying hi to everyone as well. Promise to get that updated picture up this weekend KT, I hope Smithey and I still kicking around WOW, having fun playing together. Hope the news about Ryzom is more than just a return to what we had before it went down. It needs new investors so we can get alot more content and growth for the game, otherwise it will die again, at least in my opinion.

I can't get into WoW lol, or I can't stay interested rather, crafting sucks, gathering sucks, most of the people gank you for no reason lol, they do offer a good variety of items to sugar coat it I guess. Though I find the quests very repetitive and I hate how they are basically required. I can't get into leveling a second character because it's basically the same thing the second time through, which I wouldn't mind if people wanted to party more lol, but party sizes not only so small people usually want to solo for better exp/loot. Though alot of people I know in real life play, I would stay more interested if they weren't all spread out over all the servers lol.

I can't wait to get back to Ryzom, with the large parties, the kind people, I miss it lol. Though it did frustrate me at times, I didn't really realize how great a game it was till I was shoved into other games. I mostly love the freedom. I didn't have to pick a class ( which I hate lol). I do hope the new company... spiderweb or something? If they put Ryzom back into the works, I hope they add more content. Not really more weapons, items, ect, but more lore quests, finish off those one quests... I forgot what they are called lol.... they give you special abilities like lighting wall aura . I'd like to see Prime Roots become a grind able area too. I wouldn't make the mobs easier just boost there exp to compensate for there difficulty.

Thanks for keeping in touch.If Ryzom does return I hope they keep the basic game intact and refuse to dumb it down for the masses.Adding content is a must for it to have any chance to succeed.Many of the diehards only played and kept their subs in the hope the money would keep the game afloat.After 2 bankruptcies and a royal screwing by GF not many will continue to play without something new.There is only so far ppl will keep throwing good money after bad. Hiya Kenu. My chat log is about 100 megs I can only imagine the size of yours.I always wanted to go through my logs and take out the mundane sys messages and keeping the rest.
